The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid hosted the presentation of La Biblia. Escrutad las Escrituras (The Bible: Scrutinise the Scriptures) on 24th September. This major publishing achievement, promoted jointly by Editorial San Pablo and Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos (BAC), marks a decisive step in bringing the Sacred Scripture closer to the Spanish-speaking community.
The launch was a well-attended and an enriching event, featuring the directors of both publishing houses, the director of the Spanish edition, as well as Fathers Francesco Voltaggio and Giacomo Perego, the project directors.
The editorial project, originally coordinated by Ezechiele Pasotti, Giacomo Perego, Fabrizio Fico, and Francesco G. Voltaggio, is the result of years of work by more than 50 specialists. It is presented as an integral tool that moves beyond a simple edition of the Bible to become a resource for personal and community encounter with the Word.
This edition of the Bible has already been published in Italian, Portuguese, and Arabic. Future editions are planned for other languages, including French, Polish, English, and German, demonstrating the universal scope of such an initiative.
The project is promoted by the International Catholic Biblical Society (SOBICAIN), which was founded by Blessed James Alberione, who is also the founder of the Society of St. Paul and the Pauline Family.
